Bowen Road artwork/messy play experiences (Fletcher)
In the Fletcher Room (0-1) educators have been providing children with opportunities to participate in artwork/messy experiences both inside and outside. When doing artwork inside children have been encouraged to use the small table at which they can stand at, rather than sitting down on chairs. This also allows more children to participate during these experiences.
Outdoor the Bayswater room have been bring their large tables outside so we have been using these for different art experiences. The Fletcher room children have enjoyed different drawing and painting experiences set up at these tables.
They have also been utilising their easel in both indoor and outdoor environments. This also helps with the transition to the Bayswater Room as they use their easel almost everyday.

These images highlight how easy it is for educators to reflect upon how experiences are set in the environment to reduce levels of sedentary behavior within the indoor and outdoor environment. By encouraging children to stand up whilst exploring creative arts and sensory based activities encourages increase physical activity. For these younger children this is beneficial in promoting muscle strength as they improve their levels of mobility.
